A familiar glow takes a sculptural turn. Three distinct shade forms, shaped through additive manufacturing.
Glowstick Printz pairs the familiar end-lit acrylic core of Glowstick with three distinct shades produced through additive manufacturing. Undula™, Volta™, and Torra™ explore repeating texture, twisting ribs, and flowing contours, giving each pendant its own character within a shared slender format.
Light reveals the geometry, bringing depth to the printed surfaces and drawing attention to details that change with the viewing angle. Used individually, each form creates a focused vertical accent. Grouped at varying heights, the pendants establish rhythm and a layered presence within the space.
Available in 24″, 30″, and 36″ lengths, all three forms share the same lighting platform. Designers can work with a single shade design or combine the family into compositions that bring different textures and proportions together.
THREE DISTINCT FORMS. ONE FAMILIAR GLOW. THAT’S GLOWSTICK PRINTZ.
Glowstick Printz brings sculptural detail to a slender luminous form. Three shades produced through additive manufacturing pair with the Glowstick luminaire, each giving the familiar pendant a distinct surface and silhouette.
Used individually or grouped at varying heights, the pendants bring texture and vertical rhythm to a space. Explore Undula™, Volta™, and Torra™ below to find the form that supports your design intent.
Undula introduces a gently rippling surface to the slender Glowstick form. Its repeating contours catch the light, giving the shade depth and a sense of movement while preserving a clean vertical silhouette.
Named for undulation, Undula draws on the rhythm of waves and soft folds. Used alone or repeated across an installation, it brings subtle texture and an organic character to architectural interiors.
Volta brings a measured twist to the Glowstick silhouette. Vertical ribs turn through the length of the shade, creating a flowing pattern that gives the illuminated surface depth and a sense of motion.
Its name draws on the idea of a turn or revolution, reflecting the shift in its geometry. Used individually, Volta provides a sculptural vertical accent. Repeated in a group, its twisting contours establish a shared rhythm while revealing different details with each viewing angle.
Torra gives Glowstick a broader, sculpted silhouette. Its shade begins with a triangular base, then twists and expands along its height, creating flowing contours that reveal different profiles as you move around the pendant.
The name hints at a tower, reflecting the form’s vertical presence and upward movement. Light draws out the changes in geometry, giving Torra a distinct character as a single pendant or a bold counterpoint to Undula and Volta in a mixed installation.
Glowstick Printz uses additive manufacturing to give the familiar Glowstick luminaire a new sculptural character. Each clear PETG shade is built layer by layer from a digital model, incorporating surface detail and changes in contour directly into the printed form.
The process gives Undula, Volta, and Torra their distinct geometries. Repeating ripples, turning ribs, and expanding profiles introduce movement within a slender vertical format. Fine printing layers add a surface texture of their own, visible up close alongside the larger contours of each design.
With the end-lit acrylic rod at its center, each shade frames the illuminated form. Light reveals the printed geometry, bringing out surface detail as the viewing angle changes. The manufacturing method contributes directly to the pendant’s character, both illuminated and at rest.
The shades are made with a minimum of 85% post-industrial recycled PETG and paired with Glowstick’s field-replaceable LEDs and drivers. Digitally developed forms bring sculptural detail to a luminaire designed for ongoing service.
At OCL, sustainability informs material selection and how our luminaires are maintained over time. Glowstick Printz brings those considerations together through recycled shade material and serviceable lighting components.
Each shade is produced with a minimum of 85% post-industrial recycled PETG. Using recovered plastic gives existing material a new application as a sculptural architectural shade.
Field-replaceable LEDs and drivers support continued use of the luminaire. When an electrical component requires replacement, it can be serviced without discarding the complete fixture.
At end of life, PETG can be recycled where suitable collection and processing facilities accept it.
Glowstick Printz meets the material restrictions of the RoHS Directive and is Build America, Buy America (BABA) compliant, supporting projects with material compliance and domestic sourcing requirements.
